Let’s Pray! – We will pray as a church for these three things each day this upcoming week.
Pray for those who are involved with missions’ work throughout the world.
Pray that people will intentionally seek God’s guidance to decrease the division in this nation.
Give thanks for God blessing us from where we were four years ago.
Missions’ Ministry 85th Anniversary – It being observed today, Sunday, April 21st at the 11:30 AM Service. The theme is “Around the Community, Around the World, Called to Serve, Called to Send.” The scripture is Isaiah 6:8 (ESV). The speaker is Elder Barbara Crump.
Bible/Book Study with the book, Kingdom Disciples, by Dr. Tony Evans will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 7:30 PM. We will continue with Chapter 10.
A Faith & Fitness session will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 6:30-7:30 PM, in the Dr. J. H. Moody Fellowship Hall. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board outside of the Pastor’s office. The point of contact is Dr. Brenda Christian.
Sentara Healthcare and New Zion Baptist Church are collaborating to provide health screenings and education to the church and the community. The second event will revolve around Breast Cancer. Sentara’s 3D Mobile Mammography will be on site to provide mammograms. The event will be held at New Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM. April is Cancer Control Month. Cancer Control Month aims to provide education on prevention and raise awareness about early screenings. This month also focuses on researching cancer, possible causes, treatments, and eventually, a cure. For more information, please see the attached document.
The next session for Daytime Adult Bible Study, a basic Bible Study for laypeople, will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The session will be onsite only in the fellowship hall. Rev. Shirley Smith is the contact.
Youth Church Needs You! If you are passionate about kids and God’s kingdom, please consider volunteering with this ministry! Youth Church is held every 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month. You must be a member of New Zion for at least a year to volunteer with Youth Church. If you are interested, please see the ministry leaders, Sis. Sonya and Rev. Monica, or the interim church administrator, Trustee Jovan, to complete a background check.
The Nursery Ministry needs volunteers. Please see Trustee Jovan Frazier. You must be a member of New Zion for at least one year to volunteer with the Nursery Ministry, and a background check is required.
